Lake Ottenstein
If you like to combine water fun and hiking then you should visit the recreation area of the Ottenstein reservoir (Stausee Ottenstein). The 4.5 km² reservoir created in the 1950s has become a popular recreational area in the Waldviertel thanks to a multitude of leisure and sports facilities. We highly recommend to rent a Stand Up Paddle Board at Boats2Sail and to explore the area from the water.
Spa & Wellness
If you like to relax and seize the hot springs as well as sauna, then you should visit the “Solefelsenwelt” in Gmünd. The resort offers a breath-taking pool paradise with the healing power of more than 1000m² of Bad Ischls salt water. Further the sauna area offers 6 different indoor and outdoor saunas with aromatherapy sessions, a steam bath and a hammam. With so many sauna and steam bath options to choose from, every sauna fan will find what they’ve been looking for.
Nature parks
Imposing rocks, cool waters and mystical spot, the Waldviertel has many inviting places for enjoying and exploring the great outdoors. There are idyllic woodlands, primordial moors and cool burbling waters as well as impressive rock formations with unique geomantic vibrations.
